​Following is an excerpt from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks to the Knesset Monday, 1 June 2015:
 
"We are in the midst of a diplomatic campaign in which the reality of the State of Israel and its actions are being twisted and in which many false accusations are being hurled at us. This is not new. In the history of our people many false libels have been hurled at us and thus Israel is also being accused today.
 
In the face of this struggle against us, we must be united, we must gather together all forces in the country and around the world, to rebuff these lies and to rebuff one other thing: A special standard is being created for Israel here. There is one standard for democracy, another for dictatorships and another for Israel. We are not perfect; there is much to fix in our country and we are doing so constantly. Even though Israel is being challenged more than any other democracy by the harshest forces, it maintains an exemplary democracy. There are other, less challenged democracies and they could learn something from the standards we uphold.
 
Therefore, I expect the democratic world to loudly and clearly stand behind the State of Israel on the main things, on the main thing which is the truth. I expect MKs and ministers to lead this move – for the truth."
