On May 1, 2013, the Honourable Joe Oliver, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, met with senior representatives of Israel’s newly formed government including Amir Peretz, Minister of Environmental Protection, Silvan Shalom, Minister of Energy and Water Resources, Naftali Bennett, Minister of Economy and Trade, and Uzi Landau, Minister of Tourism. While in Israel, Minister Oliver discussed potential areas of cooperation in oil and gas as well as renewable energy emphasizing Canadian expertise in regulation, academic research and drilling.
