The Embassy of Israel in Canada was proud to launch Israeli Book Week, highlighting Israeli authors to celebrate 70 years of its literature and culture.Forty Israeli titles were featured for a number of weeks in nine Indigo and Chapters stores across the Canada, including in Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver and Winnipeg.
The launch event was hosted by Indigo’s founder and chief executive, Heather Reisman, at the chain’s Toronto store on Younge & Eglinton with the help of the Israeli Consulate in Toronto
“Canada and Israel continue to build stronger bonds through shared ideals and values. Now, we are excited to be able to celebrate Israeli authors with Canadians throughout the country, as another means to connect our two great nations. These books offer a window into the rich and diverse fields of expertise that Israeli authors bring to the world of literature and we are confident that they will be enjoyable to Canadians, both young and old.” Ambassador Nimrod Barkan said at the launch event.
