    Job Description

    There is a vacancy for a permanent, full-time position as the Public Diplomacy Officer at the Embassy of Israel to Norway and Iceland in Oslo. This position is part of the embassy's political department and you will be working closely with the embassy's diplomatic staff.

     

    Start date: Upon agreement

    Form of employment: Full-time​


    As the Public Diplomacy Officer, you will be given interesting tasks in accordance to current societal affairs. You will have responsibilities related to the following areas:

     

    Follow up and develop the Embassy's relations to civil society organizations

    Maintain and promote the bilateral academic and research cooperation

    Maintain and promote the diverse and multi-religious presence of the Embassy in the Norwegian societal landscape.

     

    Central tasks include, but are not limited to:

    Provide professional assessments and to prepare decision-making bases for the diplomatic team

    Analysis of important developments

    Updates and assistance of diplomats in the preparation of meetings

    Coordination of events and visits with key persons and organizations

      

    You should be creative and self-driven, and are expected to work both independently and as a player of a fast-paced embassy-team, as well as build a professional network with important players in civil society.

     

    Qualifications and Experience

    Relevant higher education, at least at an undergraduate level

    Excellent oral and written communication skills in Norwegian and English

    Very good written and oral presentation skills

    In-depth understanding of the Norwegian civil societal sector and of Norwegian political processes

     

    It is also an advantage, but not a requirement, if you have:

    Experience from an international environment

    Knowledge and/or experience from work with non-governmental organizations

     

    Personal characteristics

    Proactive, independent, flexible and show initiative

    Very good collaboration and communication skills

    Analytical skills and have the ability to present complex matters briefly and precisely

    Ability to work at a fast pace with short deadlines

    Innovative thinking and solution-minded

    Contribute to a positive working environment

     

    Salary: Determined based on educational background and experience.
