    ​In 2011, a program on Public Health was started with one of the symposium in the month of May, marking the 63rd Independence Day of Israel. As continuity to the program, a Training/Workshop on Community Oriented Primary Care was organized from 14-21 September, 2011 at the Dhulikhel Hospital Kathmandu University Hospital in cooperation with Hebrew University Braun School of Public Health (Israel) and the Hospital.

    Public Health (also known as Social Medicine) is a broader concept of medicine that deals with the health requirements of society as a whole. Day to day issues such as cleanliness, a balanced diet and sewage facilities are crucial areas to improve the health of a population, where public health has a key role to play.
