The Honourable Minister for Agriculture, Land Reform and Cooperatives' visit to Israel

Agriculture Minister of Nepal visited Israel

    The Honourable Minister for Agriculture, Land Reform and Cooperatives, Mr. Chakrapani Khanal 'Baldev', led a Nepali delegation (comprising of the following delegates) to attend the 20th International Agriculture Exhibition Agritech-2018, that was held from 8-10 May in Tel Aviv, Israel.
    The delegation included:
    1.      H.E. Mr. Niranjan Thapa, Ambassador of Nepal to Israel
    2.      Mr. Lekh Nath Acharya, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Land Reform and Cooperatives
    3.      Mr. Arjun Bhandari, Under Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Land Reform and Cooperatives
    4.      Mr. Rudra Bahadur Shrestha, Senior Agriculture Econimist, Ministry of Agriculture, Land Reform and Cooperatives
    The main objective of the program was to expose and learn the advanced agriculture technology to be adopted in Nepalese agriculture by extending bilateral relationshio with Israel.
    The Honourable Minister Mr. Chakrapani Khanal had a Bilaterial Meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Israel, H.E. Mr. Uri Ariel and discussed about future cooperation in agricultural sector development of Nepal.
    During the exhibition, the Honourable Minister Mr. Chakra Pani Khanal delivered his key note speech focusing on agricultural technology development and adoption along with challenges nad opportunities in Nepalese perspective. The delegates participated in Special Plenary Session on the 60 years anniversarsy of MASHAV, visted Volcani Center and observed its activities. Moreover, the deleation team met with the Director of Sedot Negev Regional Council-Israel for the situation of Learn and Earn Program and possibilities to extend this program.
     
    A few business delegations from Nepal also participated in the exhibition.
     
    Note: Agritech is the biggest platform for the conferences and exhibition on agricultural technologies, innovations and food processing.
