Photos are an amazing source of re-living the past and remembering happy moments. To remind the past good old days and give a glimpse of experiences in Israel to the families and the general public in Nepal, the Embassy of Israel along with Shalom Club Nepal organized 'Shalom Photo Exhibition' on 08 February 2014 at Café Des Arts, Thamel.
The pictures captured by Nepali participants, who went for various MASHAV courses in Israel, in different years (some pictures dated as old as 1970s) were showcased during the exhibition.
Inaugurating the exhibition, H.E. Mr. Hanan Goder, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal said, "This cooperation between Nepal and Israel lasts for more than 5 decades. I am proud to be a part of this program that brings our two nations together."
Dr. Rabindra Kumar Shakya, Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission and Shalom Club President was the chief guest of the program. Dr. Buland Thapa, Director of Bir Hospital and the 4 winners of Photo Exhibition shared their feeling about the program and also shared their MASHAV experience in Israel.
The exhibition will continue for a week, from 9-22 February 2014, at Café Des Arts for the general viewing by the public.
Editor's Note:
Altogether 44 photos were exhibited that were taken in Israel at different locations belonging to various Shalom Club Nepal members.
SHALOM Club is a non-governmental, non-profitable organization. All the participants who go to Israel for a MASHAV training automatically becomes a member of Shalom Club. As of now there are more than 7000 members at this club only in Nepal, since the day it was established in 1960s.
