550 Nepali youths are going to Israel to participate in "Learn and Earn Programme" in 2017-18. Recently, 250 students have been selected from Eastern, Mid and Far Western Regions of Nepal.

Ambassador Yaron Mayer visited Morang, Itahari, Jhapa and Sunsari districts of Eastern Region from 23-24 May 2017. He participated in the Selection (via lottery) and Oreintation Programme for small farmer students of Learn and Earn Programme. Out of 400 applicants, 150 students are selected to go to Kinneret College, who will be getting an opportunity to lean about advanced agro technologies.

While on a visit, Ambassador Mayer met and interacted with executive members of Chamber of Industries Morang and discussed different aspects of collaboration.  He observed the projects such as Goat Farm, run by Israel returnee students as well.  Ambassador Mayer also visited the house of late PM BP Koirala, the 1st democratic elected Prime Minister of Nepal, who established diplomatic relations with Israel in 1960.

Likewise, 100 students from Mid and Far Western Regions are selected last week to get agricultural skills under the same program in Sdot Negev Regional Council in Israel. The representatives of the program and the Embassy were present during the selection process.

The Embassy of Israel in Nepal wishes all the candidates good luck and we hope that they will bring back the modern agricultural knowledge and skills here in Nepal.
