The Embassy of Israel in collaboration with Nepal Film Society (NFS) is organizing the 11th Israeli Film Festival in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Biratnagar. The festival is scheduled from 21-23 June 2017 in Nepal Tourism Board, Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu, 28-30 June 2017 in OR2K restaurant, Pokhara and for 6-8 July 2017 in Chamber of Industries Morang, Biratnagar. The Festival is an opportunity to see the fascinating facet of the Israeli culture, Israeli life and Jewish traditions and enjoy the Israeli cinema.
The years 2017-18 have been declared by the Government of Israel as the jubilee years for the events that shaped the history of modern Israel. In this regard, ‘50 years of reunification of Jerusalem’ is of a great significance. Hence, 11th Israeli Film Festival is dedicated to the capital of Israel – Jerusalem. The selected films, depicting cultural and social aspects of Israeli life and Jewish tradition, are related to the city and its glory. Prior to screening of each films, a documentary related to Jerusalem will be shown.
Entrance is free for all the screenings. Anyone interested in Israeli films and culture is welcome to come and enjoy the films.
The Embassy is confident that such cultural activities will serve as a bridge and a medium to bring peoples of our two countries culturally further closer and strengthen people to people relations.
