DPM and FM of Nepal in an official visit to Israel

    The Honorable Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mr. Kamal Thapa along with the Nepali delegation were in an official visit to Israel from 24 – 26 May 2016.
     
    Hon'ble Mr. Thapa met with H.E. Mr. Reuven Rivlin, President of Israel during the Israel Cup Final. He also had a met with Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu. In the meeting they discussed about the last year's Gorkha Earthquake as well as the progress in the reconstruction. DPM and FM Thapa appreciated the aid and support from the State of Israel during the earthquake. They discussed ways to further deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields. At the start of the meeting, Foreign Ministry's Director General Dr. Dore Gold and Foreign Secretary of Nepal Mr. Shankar Das Bairagi signed an MOU on the holding of a diplomatic dialogue.

    During the visit, Hon'ble Mr. Thapa had a meeting with the Honorable Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development of Israel H.E. Mr. Uri Ariel. They discussed about the matters of mutual interest in the agricultural sector development.
     
    H.E. Mr. Prahlad Kumar Prasain, Ambassador of Nepal to Israel, hosted a reception in honour of Hon'ble Mr. Kamal Thapa. The Reception was attended by Mr. Mark Sofer, Deputy Director General of Asia Pacific, Mr. Yoram Laredo, the head of the IDF delegation to Nepal, Mr. Hanan Goder, Former Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Mr. Nadav Ben Yehuda, the first Israeli to successfully climb Annapurna I and other dignitaries.
     
    Hon'ble Mr. Thapa and Ambassador Prasain visited Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center along with H.E. Mr. Yaron Mayer, Ambassador of Israel to Nepal.
