I arrived recently to Hong Kong to assume the position of Head of Economic & Trade Mission at the Consulate General of Israel in Hong Kong.
The Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry, which operates the missions of economic and trade around the world, has taken a strategic decision in recent years to expand our presence in greater China. Our office is an important link in the chain of economic missions outspread in China in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and the new office in Chengdu.
Our main goal is to bring together entrepreneurs, investors and the business community from both sides in order to boost trade and investment relations and to introduce breakthrough technologies that will lead the two economies forward.
Hong Kong is renowned for its great advantages such as its prime location, being world’s freest economy, Asia’s business service center, the bridgehead for Chinese outbound investment and so forth. Israel on the other hand, is renowned for being the “Start-up Nation” and is one of the leading innovation hubs in the world! Israel excels in areas such as Communications, Medical Devices, Software, Internet & Mobile applications, Agriculture, Environmental technologies and many more.
Due to their advantages, cooperation between the two economies is prosperous and beneficial. I believe that there is room to increase and strengthen this successful cooperation and expand it into new areas!
