Scientific and technological research is a universal language that serves as a bridge between nations and cultures.

This academic semester, the Consulate General of Israel in Hong Kong and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) co-organise the exhibition “Israeli discoveries and innovations that influenced the world”.

At the opening ceremony held yesterday at the HKUST Library, Consul General Amir Lati was happy that we were able to be physically present at the event, and is confident that it will mark the beginning of more engagement of the Israeli Consulate with the people of Hong Kong with more physical events in the coming months, in academia, business, culture and tourism.

He said, “Nicknamed Startup Nation, Israel combines its entrepreneurial and problem-solving spirit to make the country an international hub for cutting-edge technologies. This exhibition illustrates the successful results of Israeli creativity in various aspects that bring humankind forward and benefit people’s lives.”

Facing unique geopolitical situation and the lack of natural resources, Israel managed to develop an innovation ecosystem that is interconnected by education, R&D, entrepreneurial culture, bold innovation spirit and effective government support.  The resulting scientific discoveries and technology innovations contribute to humanity, through the significant effect they have on the quality of life of billions of individuals throughout the world.

Some of these accomplishments are displayed in this exhibition under six selected categories that are so relevant today:

    Life Sciences/Health/Medicine

    Climate/Environment/Agriculture/Energy

    Smart City/Navigation/Satellite

    Computer/Engineering/AI

    Historical Personalities/International Awards

The exhibition will run until January 20, 2023. Pre-registration is required for visitors.
