Israeli diamond companies have presented a strong participation at the September Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair, held during September 11-17 at Asia World Expo and Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
At the fair this year, 90 Israeli diamond companies were featured at the Israel Diamond Pavilion established by the Israel Diamond Institute, and 30 more across different locations at the show. This was one of the largest contingents at the show.
The Israel diamond industry sees the Asian markets led by Hong Kong as important for its long term growth. Hong Kong represents around 30 percent of Israel's polished diamond exports, the second largest after US.
In addition to a strong participation, the IDI also the sponsored a fair welcome reception which was officiated by Mr Sagi Karni, Consul General of Israel, and Mr Moti Ganz, Chairman of the IDI, on September 11 at the Asia World Expo.
It is also one of the founding Honored Partners of the JNA awards, which have an Asian focus and were distributed at a ceremony and gala dinner at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on September 12.
IDI introduced a computerized data base of all Israeli goods in the pavilion by exhibitor. The database was available at the IDI image booth in the pavilion featuring at the Asia World Expo. With the database, buyers were able to ascertain their choice of goods and be directed to the particular exhibitor. The image booth also enabled buyers to register for IDI portal site.
