The Holocaust resulted in the massacre of over 6 million Jews and other ethnic groups in Europe during the Second World War. The HKHTC hopes the exhibition will show how the lessons of this extraordinary period of tragic history can be used in a specific way to teach and inspire the youngsters of today in the values of Tolerance.
At the opening ceremony that was held on October 21, Mr Sagi Karni, Consul General of Israel in Hong Kong, and Ms Kimberley Mann, Manager of the Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme in New York, and students from Sha Tin Collage and Elsa High School gave their remarks on the exhibition.

“There are many lessons that we can and must draw from the horror. One is indeed the need to remember and never forget. Another is the need to educate, education for tolerance and universal values. We need to promote and support universal humanitarian values” said Consul General Sagi Karni.
