To mark Holocaust Remembrance Day this year on April 21, when public gatherings have been banned in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak worldwide, the Consulate invites you to take part in the international virtual name-reading campaign organised by Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center.

People of all ages, from all walks of life and all corners of the world, are invited to record themselves reciting the names of holocaust victims.

To do this we can all help restore the identities and memory of the millions of Holocaust victims – men, women and children.

You can participate in this International Virtual Name Reading campaign in 2 easy steps:

    1. Take a video (15 seconds maximum) of yourself or your family reciting Holocaust victims' names (a list of adult and children's names are provided on the Yad Vashem website)

    2. Upload your short video to social media using both hashtags #RememberingFromHome and #ShoahNames

Towards the end of Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yad Vashem will compile videos from all over the world and create an online Holocaust Remembrance Day Global Name Reading Ceremony.
