HKSAR CE C Y Leung visited Israel

    The HKSAR Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, visited Israel from October 12 to 15, 2015, to learn more about the development of innovation and technology in the country. Related industry leaders and academics from Hong Kong also joined the visit to Israel.
     
    It has been 16 years since last HKSAR Chief Executive paid official visit to Israel.  It is also the first time Mr Leung visits Israel. 

     


    Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Mr Leung and his team at a meeting at which they discussed the bilateral relations between Israel and Hong Kong. 

     

    Mr Leung paid a courtesy call to Israel President Reuven Rivlin, exchanging views on bilateral relations and economic co-operation.
     
     
    During the visit in Israel, Mr Leung visited Yad Vashem - the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem - and participated at the wreath-Laying Ceremony. 
     

    While touring Jerusalem’s Old City, Mr Leung visited the Western Wall - the holiest sites for Jews around the world.
     
    Mr Leung also visited technology enterprises and the technology transfer company of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Weizmann Institute of Science, Tel Aviv University and the desalination plant in Sorek. He also attended a cocktail reception for the opening of the Tel Aviv Consultant Office of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
