Of the 15 Israeli companies taking part in this forum, most of them were from the medical devices sector, while the others were from the environmental technology sector.
The keynote speakers were Mr Richard Elman, Founder and Chairman of Noble Group HK, and Mr Oded Distel, Head of Israel Investment Promotion Center of the Israel Ministry of Economy.
Potential investors from Hong Kong and mainland China have shown a lot of interest in the forum, with over 100 participated in the main events.
Furthermore, more than 50 potential investors joined a dinner hosted by Radiant Venture Capital, one of the supporting organisations of the forum.
On July 3rd, the visiting Israeli companies’ representatives took the opportunity to visit the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park, where, with the assistance and co-operation of Shenzhen Venture Capital Association, they were lined up especially to meet with potential investors from the mainland China.
On the whole, the event has drawn a great deal of attention from Hong Kong, mainland China and even Taiwanese companies. The overwhelming response indicates the great mutual interest between the two sides.
“This is only the first one; we hope it will become a bi-annual event,” said Mr Elad Goz, Consul and Head of Economic and Trade Mission in Hong Kong.
Consul General Sagi Karni addressing the audience told the guests from Israel, “Away from Israel you will find Hong Kong a great city to do business, a city where Israeli innovation is highly regarded and it is up to you to use this place and the immense knowledge of China and China’s market.”
