The Consulate General of Israel in Hong Kong, in co-operation with the Trustees of the Jewish Community, invites Dan Meridor, who recently served as the Israeli Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Intelligence until March 2013, to Hong Kong for a talk to the Jewish Community.

The talk will be held on June 3 and the topic is “Israel and its neighbours – war or de-escalation?”
Mr Meridor is former Chairman of Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee of the Knesset, former Minister of Finance, former Minister of Justice, and served as Secretary of the Cabinet under Prime Minister Menachem begin and Yitzhak Shamir.
A lawyer by profession, he practiced law in Jerusalem for many years. He served in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as a tank commander in the Six Day War and in the Yom Kippur War, and continued in the IDF reserves as a Captain.
While in Hong Kong, he will also meet Hong Kong SAR Chief Secretary for Administration Mrs Carrie Lam, President of Legislative Council Mr Jasper Tsang and Secretary for Justice Mr Rimsky Yuen, and exchange views with business leaders and academics at events hosted by the Asian Society Hong Kong and the Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
