    Mr Sharon Kedmi, Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour, visited Hong Kong during November 22 to 25, 2012, to explore ways to enhance the economic ties between Israel and Hong Kong.

    Mr Kedmi had high-level talks with senior officials of the Hong Kong SAR Government, including Ms Janet Wong, Commissioner of Innovation and Technology. 
     
    The subjects of discussion involve co-operation on hi-tech, clean tech, investment, exchange of high-level delegation and the finalizing of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on R&D between Israel and Hong Kong. 
               
    At various other occasions while in Hong Kong, Mr Kedmi exchanged views with Mr Simon Galpin, Director-General of Investment Promotion of InvestHK, Dr Roy Chung, Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong Industries, Dr Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sun Wah Group, Mrs Susan Chow, Deputy Group Managing Director of Hutchison Whampoa Ltd., and Ms Anita Fung, General Manager and CEO Hong Kong of HSBC.
     
    Mr Kedmi also met with representatives of the Jewish Community and Israeli businessmen in Hong Kong.
     
    This successful visit is significant in fostering Israel’s economic relations with Hong Kong, through the exchange of ideas and setting of framework for future collaboration.
