    PercaDu, the world class percussion and marimba duo from Israel, performed in Hong Kong for the first time on 30 April, with works by Piazzolla, Bach and Liszt, among others.

    PercaDu was formed in 1996 by Tomer Yariv and Adi Morag, both graduates of the Royal Danish Academy of Music, Copenhagen. The duo has won several prizes, including the first prize at the Percussive Arts Society International Competition, "Best Chamber Music Ensemble" at the Tel Aviv Music Competitions, and the Jury Prize and Audience Prize at the International Percussion Competition, Luxembourg.

    The ensemble has toured Israel as well as Europe, the US and the Far East playing recitals and as soloists with celebrated orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, L.A Philharmonic, Munich Bavarian State Orchestra and Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble. They also appear in festivals such as the Verbier Festival, Israel Festival, Reykjavik Arts Festival, TIPC Festival, and conduct master classes in universities around the world including the Juilliard School of Music, New York.

    Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and sponsored by the Consulate General of Israel in Hong Kong and Macau, "Percussion Concert by PercaDu" was held at 8pm, April 30 (Friday), at the Theatre, Sheung Wan Civic Centre.
