During the visit, Mrs Lau met with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Labour, Mr Binyamin Ben-Eliezer; the Minister of Finance, Dr Yuval Steinitz; the Deputy Foreign Minister, Ambassador Daniel Ayalon; and the Deputy Chief Scientist, Professor Mina Goldiak.
To see the latest developments in the green energy and bio-technology fields, Mrs Lau visited an electric vehicle services company which provides infrastructure and networks to facilitate the adoption and use of electric vehicles, a leading life science accelerator which offers incubation support to biomedical start-ups, and a venture capital company that specialises in investing in seed stage technology companies.
During her stay, Mrs Lau also attended business luncheons hosted by the Asia Israel Chamber of Commerce and Invest Hong Kong, to encourage Israeli enterprises to establish their business base in Hong Kong, and to introduce Hong Kong’s advantages as the gateway to China, as well as to explore the potential for Israeli and Hong Kong ICT enterprises to combine in tapping the Mainland market. She also took the chance to visit the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
