    Prime Minister Netanyahu:

I would like to congratulate the Foreign Ministry officials that conducted quiet diplomatic work, which led to the election of Prof. Eliezer Rabinovich from the Hebrew University Jerusalem as new Vice-President of the European nuclear research organization CERN.
Professor Rabinovich was elected by a majority vote of the 21 board members. Prof. Rabinovich heads the National Committee for High Energies of the Israel Academy of Sciences and serves as scientific representative of Israel at the CERN Council. Israel joined the organization early last year.
In addition, the currently Head of the State Comptroller's Office Eli Marzel was elected as a member of the audit committee of the organization and Prof. Yossi Nir from the Weizmann Institute as a member of the Scientific Committee. The choice of three is an honorary proof for Israel's scientific strength and the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
