Humanitarian aid to Ukraine

    A field hospital will be established in Ukraine within the next few days in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Sheba Medical Center and the Clalit Health Fund.

    At the situation assessment held this morning (Sunday, March 6, 2022), Minister of Foreign Affairs Yair Lapid directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and MASHAV – Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation – to continue with four main spheres of humanitarian aid:
    1. The field hospital that will be established in Ukraine within the next few days in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Sheba Medical Center and the Clalit Health Fund.
    2. Ongoing transfer of humanitarian aid in accordance with the needs of the Ukrainian authorities and the surrounding countries.
    3. Transfer of six giant generators to the Lviv Hospital that will allow its continuous operation during power outages.
    4. Refugee assistance centers (for Jews and non-Jews alike) at the border crossings where MFA personnel are stationed, with an emphasis on winter equipment.
    At the situation assessment this morning, Deputy Director General of Consular Affairs Eyal Siso presented data regarding the departure of Israeli citizens from Ukraine.

    According to the Consulate Division, in the three weeks since the travel warning was issued, approximately 10,200 Israeli citizens left the country. Of these, approximately 5,700 left after the outbreak of hostilities.

    According to MFA estimates in Ukraine, about 2,000 Israeli citizens still remain in the country.
