Dublin, July 7, 2022 Israeli Members of Parliament Moshe Tur-Paz (Yesh Atid) and Emilie Moatti (Labour) are currently in Ireland for a series of meetings, including Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defense Simon Coveney, Ceann Comhairle Sean O'Fearghail, members of the Oireachtas and the parliament’s Israel Ireland Friendship Group, members of the Jewish community and other supporters of Israel.
The Israeli MKs discussed relations between the two countries and had a positive but frank exchange of views with Mr. Coveney. They also visited the Glencree Peace and Reconciliation Centre to learn more about the Irish Peace Process and how it can be an example for peace and reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians.
Moshe Tur-Paz described the visit as fruitful. “There is a possibility of constructive dialogue and further improving relations to strengthen relations between our two countries,” he said. “I hope to see a similar delegation from the Irish Parliament visiting Israel in the next few months.”
Meeting with the leaders of the IIEA (Institute for International and European Affairs) MKs Tur-Paz and Moatti learned more about Ireland’s international perspective, European Union issues, and how these influence relations between the EU and Israel.
The Israeli parliamentarians also met with members of the Ireland-Israel Alliance, and Ireland Israel solidarity group and visited the historic Irish Jewish museum in Dublin.
