The United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization released their most updated report of 2022. The Global Innovation Index GII) tracked the current state of innovation globally and ranked the innovative performance of 132 countries of the current year.
Israel was ranked number 1 in the list of leading countries in the world in submitting international applications for patent registration out of the 152 member countries of the Patent Cooperation Treaty. It was also the 15th out of 48 high-income economies, and 1st out of 19 economies in North Africa and West Asia.
In the field of PCT patents and the export of ICT (Information & Communication Technology) services, Israel ranks first in the world for each of them. In Market sophistication it was 7th place, business sophistication 6th place, and knowledge and technology outputs 7th place.
With the data shown above, Israel has shown great improvement over the past year and continues to excel in significant measures with UN's WIPO.
