The Consulate General of Israel to the Midwest, is pleased to announce that it will be honoring Students Supporting Israel (SSI) with its first annual Israel-Midwest Bridge Award, at its annual Yom Haatzmaut Celebration next week. The award is for an individual or organization that has demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment to strengthening the connection between the Midwest and Israel.

SSI was created by three University of Minnesota students: Ilan Sinelnikov, Valeria Chazin, and Naor Bitton at the Consulate’s First Annual Student Leadership Conference in 2013. The international pro-Israel student movement now has 35 chapters and over 10,655 students engaged across the United States, Canada and England, with new chapters being added on a regular basis. The strength of this grassroots advocacy and the unity of the movement is extremely impressive and is a model for all pro-Israel students facing growing challenges at universities across America.
