The Consulate General of Israeli in Chengdu held Israel's Independence 68th anniversary celebration dinner.
This year, to celebrate the first reception of the Independence Day by our Consulate General here in the Southwest China, the Consulate General of Israeli in Chengdu has called for the logo competition among 39 participants from Sichuan Normal University. The chosen one is a blue Star of David, gently encircling a panda looking at the stars. Hundred guests from Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan and Guizhou witnessed the unveiling of this logo.
Consulate General of Israel in Chengdu was established in November, 2014. It covers Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou and Yunnan.
Ever since the establishment, the Consulate has gradually opened up cooperation with local partners in innovation, technology, education, health care and other aspects. Currently, the trade figure between Israel and the Southwest China has reached $ 700 million; for example, Consulate has witnessed that the biggest investment of Israeli companies in China was made here in the Southwest.
In the past 6 months, more than 1,300 visas have been issued. "I hope the number will increase rapidly in the future." Amir Lati, the consul general said.
At present, the Consulate continues to promote more cooperation projects. Our success cannot be separated from the full support of all of the guests present here today; thus I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you.
Last year, Mr. Li Jiheng, Party Secretary of Yunnan Province visited Israel; later this year, Yunnan governor Mr. Chen Hao will pay another visit to Israel. In two weeks, Israel will receive another high-level visit from Sichuan Province. During this significant visit, cooperation agreements will be signed in the fields of technology, education and etc., which will be bound to further deepen the cooperation between two sides.
