Mashav Exchange Conference was held in Chengdu

    On January 25th, the Second Mashav Shalom Exchange Meeting of Southwest China was held in Chengdu. Mr. Deng Yonghui, director of the training division of the National Bureau of foreign experts, and Mr. Amir Lati, consul general of Israel, attended the exchange meeting. More than 100 students and partners from Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Chongqing participated in the conference.

    Mashav is the Hebrew abbreviation of the Israeli international development and cooperation center. It is the international development cooperation program of the country. It began at the end of 1957 and aims to share knowledge and technology accumulated in the process of rapid development in Israel with developing countries. Up to now, Mashav has trained more than 300 thousand trainees from 140 countries, and has set up dozens of demonstration projects in dozens of countries.

    Amir Lati, Consul General of Israel in Chengdu, said that since the establishment of the Israeli Consulate General in Chengdu, four provinces and cities have been promoted to participate in more than 20 trainings with more than 1500 trainees. There are a variety of training methods, mainly including inviting experts to give on-site courses and in-depth training.

    In 2017, China and Israel have been through 25th anniversary for the establishment of diplomatic relations and both sides announced the establishment of a comprehensive partnership of innovation. Also in this year, the Mashav project has blossomed from a bud in the southwest region.
