​This week, several well-known Israeli agencies, chain hotel groups and Diamond Corp gathered in Chengdu and held two Israeli tourism promotion activities. Mr. Amir Lati, Consul General of Israel in Chengdu, took part in the activities and delivered speeches.

Amir Lati mentioned that although Israel is not a big country in terms of area and population, it has rich tourism resources with a long history and a splendid civilization. At the same time, Israel is also known as the "start-up country", and has the leading technology in agriculture, medical treatment, water affairs, environmental protection, IT and so on.

In recent years, the number of visitors to Israel from China has continued to climb. It reached 114000 in 2017, an increase of 43% over 2016. This summer, Sichuan Airlines plans to open direct flights from Chengdu to Tel Aviv. It is believed that the opening of the direct routes and the introduction of convenient policies such as 10-year visas and so on will stimulate more visiting demand and promote more cooperation between Israel and the southwestern China.
