International Holocaust Remembrance Day

  •

January 27th we mark the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Witnesses to this tragedy are perishing and it is our duty to educate future generations about what blind hatred and prejudice can cause.

In connection with this memorial day, the World Jewish Congress is conducting a worldwide campaign called #WeRemember.
The Embassy of the State of Israel in Slovakia participates in this campaign every year and this year we symbolically lit our buidling with the hashtag WeRemember.

We are honored that this idea was supported by the President of the Slovak Republic, H.E. Zuzana Caputova and as a sign of that the Grasalkovic Palace was lit up blue.

We also greatly appreciate the support of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, which lit the sign #WeRemember on the Bratislava Castle building and are very grateful for the kind support of the Prime Minister of Slovak Republic Eduard Heger, who attended the exhibition devoted to diplomats risking their lives saving Jewish population.

We thank the Members of the Friendship Groups with Israel and the National Bank of Slovakia for the strong support and the Slovak University of Technology that lit its building with beautiful animation of #WeRemember.

We have to remember the Holocaust forever, it cannot be denied, it cannot be forgotten.
