The approaching visit of Israel made its mark
on King David Boulevard. The whole street in Jerusalem was
decorated by the Slovak and Israeli national flag.
We are extremely pleased that
a delegation from Slovakia, led by the Speaker of the National Council of
the Slovak Republic, Boris Kollár, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Korčok
and Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Family Milan Krajniak, arrived in
Israel and officially opened the Slovak Institute in Jerusalem.
Slovak delegation was hosted by
the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, the visit continued with a
meeting with members of the Israeli Parliament - Knesset, and the program
included also a visit to the Yad Vashem Memorial, where members of the
delegation honored the memory of Holocaust victims.
Foreign Minister Ivan Korčok met
with his counterpart, Minister Yair Lapid, while the topics of the meeting were
the war in Ukraine, the nuclear agreement with Iran and the outline of areas
that will further deepen relations between our countries.
The visit culminated in the
opening of the Slovak Institute in Jerusalem, which under the leadership
of Jakub Urik brings the best of Slovak culture directly to Jerusalem.
