The Passover is here! It symbolizes the liberation of the Jews from the slavery of the Egyptians over 3000 years ago and their subsequent journey through the desert.
Family and friends meet in a festive evening party, and besides reading the Haggadah, one of the favorite traditions is that children are trying to find the so-called Afikomen, a piece of matzah hidden by adults. The child who finds him first gets a reward.
Why is matzah typical food of Passover? It symbolizes humility and simplicity, and also that when fleeing from Egypt, the Jews had no time to wait until the bread rises.
However, passover is not just about eating, it's about meeting family, endless discussions storytelling and last but not least, it's a spring holiday, so Jews all around the world spend time hiking and enjoying the nature.
Happy Passover to all our friends and supporters!
