Israeli Avishag Semberg won a bronze medal in taekwondo and kicked off Israel's success at Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Favoured Judokas lost in individual disciplines, but jointly secured another bronze for Israel.
On top of this, Israel added 2 gold medals to the bank thanks to gymnastics. The most precious metal was won by Artem Dolgopyat, who competed in men's rhythmic gymnastics, and Linoy Ashram, who won first place in the women's rhythmic gymnastics multiplayer competition.
