After a break caused by the pandemic situation, the 7th annual Israeli films Kolnoa will take place in Slovakia.
This year, we will combine both feature and documentary films into one format.
The program of the upcoming 7th year includes the screening of 9 feature and 4 documentaries in the original language version with Slovak subtitles. As usual, the dramaturgy covers wide scope of topics, such as the Holocaust, the behind-the-scenes of the Israeli secret service, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and life in the ultra-Orthodox community. For the first time, Slovak viewers will be able to watch an Israeli film classic, an adaptation of the Amos Oz bestseller Michael Shemi from 1975, which will be screened in a digitized version.
The film festival began on November 4 in the Nitra Synagogue. After that it moved to Bratislava and to other regional cities of Košice, Prešov, Trnava, Žilina and Banská Bystrica. The festival is organized by the Embassy of Israel in Slovakia in cooperation with the civic association Post Bellum, the city of Nitra, Cinema Nitra, cinema Mladosť in Bratislava, cultural center in Trnava Malý Berlín, cultural center Station Žilina-Záriečie, Košice cinema Úsmev, Prešov cultural point Stromoradie, the Pocity cinema in Prešov and the SNP Museum in Banská Bystrica.
