Rabbi Myers and Rabbi Stiefel visited us with the upcoming celebrations of the Jewish New Year of Rosh haShana.
They spoke of and explained the traditions associated with the celebration of this Jewish holiday, and Rabbi Myers blew shofar which sound, according to Hebrew tradition, awakens hearts and sounds like a call to repentance and conversion to G-d.
Traditionally, we cut an apple, soaked it in honey and wished each other a sweet new year.
During their visit, the rabbis also confirmed that, as planned, the 2nd Jewish educational center in Slovakia with prayer room and kosher dining room will be opened soon. Stay tuned for more information about the center!
