Company “COFA Games” won the Start Tel Aviv competition for startup
companies in Serbia, organized by the Israeli Embassy in Serbia and the RoyalCouncil for Entrepreneurship. Young gaming enthusiasts who presented the
Awakening of Heroes, a unique Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, were
among top ten startup companies which pitched their business ideas on 3 July at
the Royal Palace.
The “COFA Games” team will have the opportunity to participate in the
DLD festival, the largest international festival of innovation in Israel
from 13 to 19 September. The winning startup will have the
opportunity to meet with the leading Israeli entrepreneurs, business angels and
technology incubators representatives, as well as to get to know the way the
famous Tel Aviv “startup ecosystem” works. They will also meet with colleagues
from around the world in Tel Aviv, a city which, after Silicon Valley, is the
largest startup center in the world.
HE Mr Yosef Levy,
Ambassador of Israel to Serbia said: “There are lot of similarities between
Israel and Serbia. We are small countries with an extraordinary history, full
of inspiration and hope, but our greatest treasure are young people who create
a future. Israel has recognized that and we invest in young generations for
decades, because of their creativity and courage are the secrets of success.”
HRH Crown Prince
Alexander II welcomed guests and said: “It is a great pleasure to have the
opportunity to host Start Tel Aviv competition at the Royal Palace and to offer
our teams the chance to go to Tel Aviv, second biggest startup capital in the
world. My Foundation and Royal Council for entrepreneurship think highly of
this cooperation with the Embassy of Israel in Serbia. We hope that we will
through this, but hopefully many other joint projects help Serbia increase
innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives through the experiences and knowledge
of a true startup nation.”
Members of the jury Hagai
Arbel, General Manager of Veriest Venture, David Scoch from Serbian Private
Equity Association and Dušan Kosić cofounder of the Serbian Business Angels
Network (SBAN) have chosen the contestants out of more than 20 startup
