Culinary secrets on the Belt and Road

    Last Thursday, a "One Belt One Road" inspired culinary event was organized by the embassy of Israel in Beijing.
     
    During the event, Israeli chef Shaul Ben Aderet and Chinese chef Chen Qing shared their ideas of Israeli and Chinese food culture and cultural exchange through food.
     
    Mr. Zvi Heifetz, Israeli Ambassador to China and his wife Sigalia, Secretary-General of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Mr. Rashid Alimov, Mr. Wang Shi, Ms. Ha Hui as well as guests from the business, culture, art and media fields all came to participate and enjoy the delicious food and lively atmosphere.
     
    The two famous chefs cooked special delicacies from both China and Israel: Fish Finger in Kadaif Noodles on Top of Burned Eggplants, Sea Fish in Spicy Tomato Sauce, Shredded Tofu Soup with Truffle Sauce, Classic Spicy Diced Chicken with Peanuts and other delicious dishes. In addition to starters and main courses, Israeli Traditional Puddings and Chinese Rose Mint Jelly were served as a sweet ending for dinner.
     

    This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Israel. In his speech, Ambassador of Israel Mr. Zvi Heifetz thanked the distinguished guests and friends for joining the event and expressed hope that the cooperation between China and Israel the economic and cultural fields will continue to flourish.
     
    The event was held on the same week as the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, and included lighting the third candle of Hanukkah.
