The government of Israel attaches great
importance to the academic and scientific ties between china and Israel. Large
budgets and funds have been already allocated to this important goal.
In order to improve those ties and the
academic cooperation between the two countries, Israel plans to launch a new
scholarships program to attract excellent Chinese students to come to study in
Israel.
The scholarships will be given to B.A
students and M.A students in various fields of studies such as life science, physics,
computer science, engineering and archeology.
In addition to that, Israel has decided to
launch a special scholarship program for excellent post- doctoral students, who
will come to Israel to conduct their research. The scholarships will be given by
the research institutes and will cover full tuition and living expenses for the
three years of post- doctoral studies.
In their visit to china, a delegation from
the higher education council of Israel met with officials from the P.R.C
minstrel of education and from CSC, and discussed the future cooperation
between the two sides, and ways to implement and to promote the new
scholarships programs
The NSFC and the ISF agree to launch calls
for proposals to support collaborative basic research projects between Chinese
and Israeli scientists in the areas of Life Sciences and Medicine and Exact
Sciences and Technology. These joint research projects are to be carried out by
established research groups from both countries.
The NSFC and the ISF will encourage and
support the organization of bilateral workshops on scientific topics of common
interest to promote the interactions and mutual understanding, potentially
leading to collaboration between Chinese and Israeli scientists.
