On the eve of the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Israel, the new Israeli Ambassador to China, Irit Ben Abba arrived in Beijing on January 22, and assumed the new post.
Amb. Ben Abba is an veteran diplomat with great working experiences. She was the Israeli ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, the Israeli ambassador to Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia, and the Israeli ambassador to the Hellenic Republic. She was the Deputy Director-General of the Economic Affairs Division of the Isralei Foreign Ministry.
Amb. Ben Abba is also an old friend of China. She studied Chinese and East Asian Studies in Israel. From 1986 to 1989, she was the consul of the Israeli Consulate General in Hong Kong. From 1994 to 1996, she was the minister (Deputy Chief of Mission) of the Israeli embassy in Beijing.
As one of the most important positions in foreign service, we wish Amb. Ben Abba success in promoting relations between the two countries and wish her a fruitful experience in her term.
