On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Israel and promotion of the popularity of Thai cuisine among Israelis under the policy of Thai Kitchen to the world, the Royal Thai Embassy, Tel Aviv, together with the Hilton Hotel, Tel Aviv, and Comtec , an Israeli company specialized in organizing conventions & special events, hosted a Thai Gala Dinner at the Ball Room, Hilton Hotel, Tel Aviv on 28 May 2014 with Mom Luang Sirichalerm Svastivadhana, well-known by the name of Chef McDang, one of the most famous master chefs of Thailand who had been invited from Thailand as a host for this Gala Dinner Event.
The Thai Gala Dinner was a great success with more than 400 guests from various parts of Israel’s society such as politicians, high ranking government officers, Ambassadors, businessmen and media attending the event. Besides the fabulous Thai cuisine meticulously prepared in both taste and appearance by Chef McDang, all the guests were also entertained by the uniquely Thai atmosphere with the traditional Thai musical band, fruit carving station and street food style cocktail stations.
Besides the Thai Gala Dinner, Chef McDang also gave Thai cuisine demonstration to the media and guests of the Hilton Hotel on 26 May 2014 and to the spouses of Ambassadors on 29 May 2014.
