This week, Michal Niddam Israel’s new Economic Consul to the US Southern region, based in Huston, made her first visit to Atlanta.
The American Israel Chamber of Commerce Southeast region (AICCSE) played a major part in helping to coordinate Ms. Niddam’s visit and provided a great opportunity for the Atlanta business community to meet with her during a “Welcome Reception” sponsored by the Law Firm, McKenna Long & Aldridge.
During this event, Ms. Niddam expressed her keen interested to learn more about Atlanta's innovation business sectors, including Hi-tech and biomedical industries. "I'm very excited to be working in this region," said Niddam. "I see a great support for Israel here." Niddam said. She will serve mainly as a matchmaker beween companies in the region with companies in Israel.
Michal Niddam has been with the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor since 2008 in a variety of positions including the East & Central Europe department, as director of the India-China Fund, and manager of the Ministry's "200x2" program aimed at assisting companies from Israel's peripheral regions to double their exports.
Previous to her government work, she began her career at Bank Hapoalim. Michal earned her B.A. in Economics from the Hebrew University, her law degree from Bar Ilan University, and did graduate work at the University of California-Irvine.
Ms. Niddam assumed her duties in August following the return to Israel by Roee Madai.
