Statement from PM Netanyahu on UK PM Cameron's announcement

    Following a national referendum in the UK, in which UK citizens voted to leave the European Union, Prime Minister David Cameron announced that he would step down in October and let the new prime minister carry out negotiations with the EU.

    Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued the following statement:
     
    "I have great appreciation for Prime Minister David Cameron, a respected leader and a true friend of Israel and the Jewish people.
     
    Throughout his premiership, the security, economic and technological cooperation between the United Kingdom and Israel has greatly expanded.
     
    Together we laid a strong foundation for continued cooperation."
