DFM Hotovely: We are opening a door to the world and to all those who haven’t yet visited Israel, to come and get to know the real Israel. This is our answer to the boycotters and the revilers – get to know Israel in all its diversity.

The interactive virtual exhibition "Open a Door to Israel" opened in Rome on Thursday 21 January 2016, under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry for Strategic Affairs.

The exhibition, a Foreign Ministry project from conception to execution, is built around nine doors that tell the story of Israel. Every door reveals a different visual show, a different aspect of Israel: education, culture, technology, diversity, and more.

The exhibition, which will travel around the world, is aimed at audiences that until now were not familiar with Israel. The next destinations are Poland and France; it is scheduled to be in Rio in the summer, during the Olympics.

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely represented Israel at the exhibition’s opening, together with Italy’s Minister of Education, Stefania Giannini, and 200 VIPs from all over Italy. Minister Giannini came away very impressed and told DFM Hotovely that she wants Italian schoolchildren to experience the exhibition and to learn about Israel.

DFM Hotovely said, “I am happy to be here and to open the exhibition, ‘Open the Door to Israel’. This exhibition, which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has brought about, shows an Israel beyond the Middle East conflict. It opens a door to the beauty of Israel in all its shades and colors. We are opening a door to the world and to all those who haven’t yet visited Israel, to come and get to know the real Israel. This is our answer to the boycotters and the revilers – get to know Israel in all its diversity.”
