    Information on crossing Israel's border by land

    Crossing Israel border by land is possible through Jordan River Crossing in Irbid / Beit She'an or Wadi Araba Crossing in Aqaba / Eilat. Travelers can use public transportation, tourist busses, internal shuttles or private cars.

    ·         I am a Lithuanian citizen; do I need a visa to travel to Israel?

    No, Lithuanian citizens do not have to apply for a visa to make tourist trips to Israel for up to 90 days.

    ·         I have stamps from Arab / Muslim countries in my passport, is that a problem?

    Entry to Israel is not conditional on stamps in the passport.

    ·         My passport expires less than 6 months from my return date, what do I do?

    Contact the appropriate Lithuanian authority to have your passport extended or get a new passport.

    ·         Can I I travel to Egypt or Jordan from Israel?

    Yes. Please contact the embassies of the countries concerned for visa enquiries.

    ·         Can I enter Israel on an extended passport?

    Yes, as long as it is valid for 6 months from the date of return.

    ·         How long does it take to get a visa?

    It usually takes 5 working days to process a visa application. Please call us for more information as the duration varies from case to case.

    ·         Can I get my visa issued outside the passport?

    Usually a visa is inserted into the passport. In very special cases, we can accommodate a request for a visa to be issued on a separate paper. Remember to say so when you submit your visa application if you want a visa outside of the passport.

    ·         Can I get a stamp outside the passport upon arrival in Israel?

    Yes. Today, all entry and exit stamps are issued outside the passport.

    ·         I am going on a business trip to Israel for a Lithuanian company; do I need to apply for a visa?

    For an ordinary business trip, the same rules apply as for tourist trips. Lithuanian citizens therefore do not have to apply for a visa.

    ·         I have a foreign passport which requires a visa to Israel, but I have a permanent residence permit in Lithuania; Do I still need to apply for a visa?

    Yes, visa requirements follow nationality and citizenship.

    ·         I live far from the embassy,   can I send my visa application?

    No, all applicants must submit their application in person.

    ·         My Israeli passport has expired; can I travel to Israel with my Lithuanian passport?

    No. According to Israeli law, Israeli citizens must travel in and out of Israel with their Israeli passport.​
