For many years, the State of Israel has spearheaded and pioneered the dispatch of emergency medical teams to disaster areas around the world. The World Health Organization has recognized this fact, and in November 2016 awarded Israel's Emergency Medical Team and Field Hospital the highest ranking in the world, that of #1 International Emergency Team.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Tzipi Hotovely received the prestigious award in Hong Kong on behalf of the State of Israel.
