    The Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations in Geneva is recruiting a highly motivated and skilled Public Diplomacy Intern.​

    OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE 
    The main purpose of this internship is to assist the Public Diplomacy Team at the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations in Geneva with telling Israel’s story to a global audience, through the creation of impacting social media content, the organization of events, and engaging with media outlets. 

    The selected intern will have a unique opportunity to learn about how the international system operates, and to work on some of the most pressing international issues, including human rights, global health, disarmament and development. A supervisor will guide the intern and provide on-the-job training.  

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
    • Create compelling graphics to share across social channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube)
    • Create and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos and press releases
    • Help create and edit short-form videos
    • Brainstorm and research ideas for original content
    • Assist with organizing events and meetings

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
    • Graduated or currently studying in the field of Communication, Journalist, Diplomacy, International Relations or other relevant discipline; 
    • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms;
    • Creative mindset;
    • Fluency in English (both oral and written); 
    • Excellent skills in communication, drafting and organisation; 
    • Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills;
    • Firm understanding of current Israel / Middle East affairs (desirable). 

    TYPE OF POSITION & APPLICATION
    The internship is unpaid (except for transportation), limited to 16 hours a week for a period of 3 months, with a possibility to extend for 6 months.

    Start date: Mid-July/Early October 2024
