    ​​The Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and creative Public Diplomacy Advisor.

    The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing Israel’s diplomatic objectives at the United Nations in Geneva by promoting Israel’s policies and perspectives to key stakeholders including the media, international organizations, Member States, and civil society.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    §  Strategic Communications: Develop and implement public diplomacy strategies to advance Israel's positions on a wide range of global issues, such as human rights, humanitarian affairs, and global health.

    §  Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and social media influencers. Coordinate interviews, press briefings, and media campaigns to ensure effective coverage of Israel’s priorities and activities at the UN.

    §  Content Creation: Draft press releases, op-eds, and digital content in coordination with the Mission’s team to articulate Israel’s stance on international issues and multilateral diplomacy. Assist in drafting speeches and talking points.

    §  Social Media Management: Oversee the Mission’s digital presence, including social media platforms, to engage with global audiences and tell Israel’s story. This includes creating impactful visual content, including recording and editing videos.

    §  Public Engagement: Organize conferences, briefings, exhibitions, commemoration ceremonies, and other cultural diplomacy projects to enhance the visibility and understanding of Israel’s history and society and its contributions to the world. Represent the Mission in public event and UN meetings.

    §  Crisis Communication: Lead the Mission’s communication during critical events, managing real-time information dissemination and controlling messaging in sensitive times.

    §  Research and Analysis: Monitor global media trends, emerging issues at the UN, and public opinion, to provide strategic recommendations to senior diplomats on communication tactics.

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ​

    §  Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in International Relations, Communications, Political Science, Public Relations, or related fields.

    §  Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in public diplomacy, strategic communications, or media relations, preferably within international organizations, diplomatic missions, or Israel advocacy groups.

    §  Languages: Proficiency in English and French is essential. Additional languages, especially Hebrew, are of advantage.

     

    SKILLS:

    §  Strong understanding of multilateral diplomacy and international relations, with an ability to effectively communicate complex issues.

    §  Excellent writing, editing, and content creation skills, including video editing.

    §  Proficiency in social media management tools and media monitoring systems.

    §  Crisis communication skills, with experience in managing high-stakes public diplomacy challenges.

    PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

    §  Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, handle sensitive information with discretion, and maintain composure under pressure.

    §  Ability to think outside the box to develop innovative solutions.

    §  Proactively identify opportunities and take decisive action to drive projects forward.

    §  Strong team player.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    §  Experience in Middle Eastern affairs or Israel-related advocacy.

    §  Previous experience working with international organizations, specifically within the UN system.

    §  Demonstrated expertise in leveraging traditional media and social media to advance diplomatic messaging.
