ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
An excellent opportunity for a dynamic, eloquent and highly motivated individual to play a key role in the Mission’s work and to contribute to strengthening Israel’s presence at the United Nations.
The candidate will assist the diplomatic staff of the Mission in performing a wide range of tasks including participating in multilateral meetings, monitoring political processes taking place in Geneva, and preparing accurate reports. The candidate will assist in the drafting of a variety of texts including speeches, public interventions, letters, concept notes, diplomatic notes and messages to be used in social media channels.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A university degree in international relations, political science, public affairs, communications, Middle East studies or other related field
- At least 2 years of experience in public affairs and/or English writing and editing, preferably in an international environment such as the UN
- Native speaker of English, knowledge of Hebrew and other UN languages is a plus
- Proven experience in writing speeches
- Ability to produce succinct and accurate reports
- Firm understanding of current Israel / Middle East affairs - acquaintance with the UN system is desirable
- Outreach capabilities and the ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder events
- Creativity, flexibility and excellent communications skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Motivation and enthusiasm to work as part of a small, agile, ambitious team
TYPE OF POSITION
- Fixed Term, Full-time
