President Rivlin meets with a delegation of the EPP group of the European Parliament

    President Reuven Rivlin today (7 October 2018), held a working meeting with a delegation of the European People’s Party (EPP) group of the European Parliament, headed by Andrey Kovatchev MEP of Bulgaria, the deputy leader of the EPP group and its spokesperson on Middle East affairs. The Ambassador of the European Union to the State of Israel, Emanuele Giaufret, also participated in the meeting.
     
    President Rivlin welcomed the delegation, and said, “I feel at home in this group – a group of true friends of Israel."
     
    Speaking about the challenges facing Israel and the European Union, he added, “We deeply appreciate EPP's support of Israel in all forums. You arrive at an important time: Our challenges are your challenges. We must work together to face these challenges which are changing the world as a whole, and Europe in particular."
