    Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this morning (Wednesday, 5 September 2018), at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem, met with the Minister-President of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Armin Laschet. The two discussed deepening cooperation between Israel and North Rhine-Westphalia; Prime Minister Netanyahu also discussed regional threats and Iranian aggression.
     
    Prime Minister Netanyahu pointed out Israel's contribution to Europe's security and said that Israel has thwarted dozens of terrorist attacks on the continent's soil.
     
    Minister-President Laschet came to open the first representative office of its kind by North Rhine-Westphalia. Israel has good relations with the state in a range of areas including youth exchanges and Holocaust education. The scope of trade with the state is approximately 1 billion Euros per annum.
